About Us

The SBCC Film Community is a local resource dedicated to equipping and encouraging students to produce quality films through creativity, respect, and professionalism.

Though we began at SBCC ten years ago, we now include filmmakers and actors from across Santa Barbara County, with an emphasis on student learning. This includes universities such as UCSB and Westmont College. We aim to build a strong community of creatives that can network, teach one another, and gain industry knowledge & experience together.

Some of the opportunities we provide include bi-weekly workshops from industry professionals, frequent socials where filmmakers can network and have fun, internship & job opportunities from local companies and peers, collaboration with the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and an updated list of our crew & cast members for hire.

These are incredible resources for getting started in the film industry, and building a strong base of knowledge, experience, and community to grow off of.
